Hi, Everyone:

This Sunday, February 25th, is the 2nd Sunday of Lent, as well as Lutheran Loose Change Sunday, and Bold Women’s Day (don’t get them mixed up – it is not Loose Lutheran Women for Bold Change Sunday).  Bold Women’s Day is the fourth Sunday in February which WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) has chosen to honor Lutheran women who act boldly on their faith.  Also this Sunday is Lois Miller’s Memorial Service (a bold, faithful Lutheran woman if ever there was one).  The service is at 1 pm with a reception in Holland Hall afterward.  Please come and celebrate her life.

But before all that happens, there is a Bold Women’s Lunch on Saturday (tomorrow) at Panera (2650 Mowry Ave, Fremont) at 12:30 pm.  All bold women, their hangers-on, and essentially all who want to have a good time are invited.  Everybody pays for their own food, so you won’t have to fight a bold woman for the check.

But before that happens, it’s Movie Night tonight (Friday) at about 6:30 pm in the Activity Room.  I hear the movie is going to be “Wonder Woman,” which fits in nicely with the bold women theme going on. (speaking of themes going on, now I’ve got the 70’s TV theme going on in my head – “…dum dum dum dum dum dum – WONDER WOMAN!!!”)

Midweek Lenten Services have begun and will run through March 21st.  These short (about a half hour) meditative services start at 6:30 pm and include Taize music.  This coming Wednesday we will hear from Mary and John in “This Cross Has Made Us Family.”  Take a break from all of the Lenten hustle and bustle!

(“…bad dum ba ba ba da ooh – In your satin tights, fighting for your rights, and the old red white and blue!”)

The Spaghetti Feed is coming up on April 14th, but tickets are already on sale now!  They are $15 for adults, $10 for children 3-12, and $45+ for families.  Look for Kathy Miedema between services for the next couple of weeks.  And speaking of the Spaghetti Feed, Briana Holland is looking for donations of gift cards and prize baskets for the raffle and silent auction.  For the gift cards, consider using our scrip program so that Holy Trinity gets a cut.  And I always think it’s fun to put together a prize basket – maybe with a Wonder Woman theme!

(“…Stop a bullet cold, make the Axis fold, change your mind and change the world!”)

See you in church!
