This Sunday, July 29th, is the 10th Sunday after Pentecost and, since it is the 5th Sunday of the month, it’s Stewardship Sunday (but come anyway: Jesus feeds 5,000 people and walks on water this week – you don’t want to miss that!).
Movie Night was held a week early, so don’t come tonight unless you feel like having a picnic by yourself in the breezeway (bring your own food and utensils). Game Night will be next Friday, August 3rd.
We are creating a new Photo Directory of members and need everyone to make an appointment for a photography session. The dates and times for the photo sessions are Friday, September 21 from 2 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, September 22 from 10 am to 5 pm. Please visit our website to schedule your appointment. Your member site URL is https://booknow-lifetouch.appointment-plus.com/yeexjb4x/. If you have any questions or need assistance, call Cheryl Kuhlmann at 510-502-0890 (and no, you can’t use the younger, slimmer, less bald picture of yourself from last time – I asked).
Although the Cause of the Month for July is still the ELCA Fund for Federal Chaplaincy Ministries, we are already collecting school supplies for Abode Services children, which is next month’s cause, since they will need the supplies by mid-August and we want to give people who may be gone in the next few weeks a chance to contribute. There is a box in the Narthex for the school supplies. Monetary contributions for school supplies will be collected throughout August.
I just posted the new Flower Charts for sign-ups to contribute flowers for the sanctuary, so the opportunities are wiiide open! Whether it’s to commemorate an event, remember a loved one, or just because you think they’re pretty (the flowers, not necessarily the loved ones), contributing flowers enhances our worship services. Plus, the dedication and your name will appear in the bulletin insert – think of the notoriety!
Don’t forget August 19: Lu-Wow! and Pastor Tim’s 30th Ordainiversary (Ministrennial? Clergenary? Reverennium? Pastorversary? Padrennial? Vote for your favorite term, or come up with one of your own!).
See you in church!
