Ministries

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church has a number of ongoing ministries. Please read more about them below.

Prayer Chain

Please contact either Donna (donna.lee1594@gmail.com) or Briana (holland23@comcast.net)

The prayer chain is for you to ask for prayer for family and friends with any medical or other emergency. Donna and Briana receive your prayer requests and then forward to over 40 people via email and phone. They receive close to a hundred prayer requests per year.

Reneal International Education Outreach

Reneal is a ministry founded by HTLC members, Rene and Neal Bierbaum. Reneal’s purpose is to provide support for students, their parents, teachers, and school administrators to enhance education  opportunities in schools in developing  countries. Recognizing the power of  technology in particular to change lives,
the primary focus of this organization is to provide Information Technology expertise and assets (computer hardware, computer software, and learning resources) to these schools.

For additional information please go to their website at: http://www.reneal.org

Food for the Homeless

As part of its outreach, Holy Trinity provides lunches to the TriCity Homeless Shelter on Fridays. Each week, we give 40 sandwiches and another lunch item to eat with them. If you are interested in providing food or helping deliver them Friday mornings, please call the church. We can give high school students 2 hours Community Service credit for making sandwiches
or for helping with the delivery.

Family Game Night and Potluck

Cause of the Month

July:  ELCA Fund for Leaders Federal Chaplaincy Ministries Scholarship

The July cause of the month aims to support seminary students who minister to members of the armed forces. The ELCA Fund for Leaders Federal Chaplaincy Ministries Scholarship goes to students who are attending an ELCA seminary full-time and are preparing for ministry as a military, Veterans Administration, or federal prison chaplain. These scholarships are awarded through ELCA Federal Chaplaincy Ministries. More information is available here:

August:  School Supplies for Abode Services Children

Since many of us travel and take vacation in August, we’re announcing the August cause of the month early. This month, we’d like to invite our HTLC members to help out the schoolchildren whose families are receiving services from Abode in Fremont. Abode Services provides housing and other services (including tutoring and counseling for low-income students) to more than 6,100 people each year across Alameda and other nearby counties. These kids need the same supplies our kids need: pencils, markers and crayons, paper, binders, and notebooks. A $50 donation buys then nearly everything they need to start the year. We’ll collect supplies for them through mid-August to help them get ready for school, which starts before Labor Day, and we’ll collect monetary donations through the end of the month. Please visit abodeservices.org for more on this organization.
