This Week at Holy Trinity, January 27, 2017

Hi, Everyone:

This Sunday, January 29th, is the 4th Sunday after Epiphany and the 5th Sunday of the month, which means it’s Stewardship Sunday (Yaaaaay!).  We will be continuing the 5th Sunday “Faith Stories” series with Steve Guerzon and Meg Ehmann sharing their journeys of faith in place of the sermon (brave souls).  Pastor Tim will be back, and yet he still gets out of preaching a sermon!  Meetings abound this Sunday with a Stewards of God’s Love Meeting at 10am, and an RIC Meeting at 12:15pm.

Tonight, January 27th, is Movie Night!  Join us at 6:30 PM in the Activity Room for food, friends, fellowship, and the film “Suicide Squad” for all you anti-hero action movie fans. Next Friday will be Game Night.

Next week we will be having the annual Souper Bowl of Caring and Soup Potluck on Super Bowl Sunday. Our youth will be collecting money and food for the hungry in our community as part of a nation-wide effort. The Soup Potluck will take place in Holland Hall between the two worship services.  Sign up at the Media Table to show off your signature soup simmering skills (alliteration rules!).

HTLC is planning a Day at the Ballpark on Saturday, July 29 for a 6pm game between the A’s and the Twins (I know it’s early days, but that way the tickets are cheaper!).  Join your fellow church members for tailgating before the game, then a Witches & Wizards fireworks show afterward.  We’ve reserved 40 tickets at $27 each, and already have quite a few interested.  So if you’d like to go, sign up at the Media Table soon on a first-come, first-served basis. We may be able to get more tickets if interest is high.  More info is on the sign-up sheet. Any questions, please ask Kathy Miedema (

A Financial Summary of HTLC’s income and expenses for 2016 is available on the Media Table in the form of a lovely lavender handout (that Media Table is getting crowded!).  Thanks for all your hard work, Terri & Tammy!

See you in church!
