This Sunday, June 11th, is Holy Trinity Sunday (our namesake Sunday!) and Scrip Sunday (earn money for the church by shopping!). Also this Sunday, the choir will be replacing your regularly scheduled sermon with a Sermon in Song before going on summer break. We will be thanking all our musicians with an Asian-inspired Musicians’ Brunch after the service (non-musicians can partake as well – don’t panic!). There is also a Council Meeting after the service. My calendar says it starts at 11:15 am, but I’m willing to bet it might be delayed by the forecast of food.
Last week’s Yard Sale put the “fun” in fundraiser. Thanks to all who volunteered their time, effort, and treasures to make this year’s Yard Sale such a success! A good time was had by all, and my partner Richard came home with all sorts of treasures. (Yeah, thanks. Thanks a lot! [heavy sarcasm]).
Next Sunday (the 18th) is an avalanche of special occasions – Father’s Day, Confirmation, New Members, Baptisms, and Barbecue Dedication. Of course all of these special occasions deserve a Potluck! Meat, bread, and dessert are already taken care of. The rest is up to you! There’s a sign-up sheet on the Media Table if you would like to contribute your best comestibles.
It’s Graduation Season, and we would like to acknowledge all of the graduates at Holy Trinity by listing them in the bulletin insert. (prestige!) If you or someone you know is graduating this year, please fill out one of the forms located on the Media Table in the narthex and put it in the Parish Life Coordinator’s box by June 28th. This includes all of those graduating from High School, College, University, Advance Degree, and Certificate Programs. We do not want to leave anyone out!
As far as I know, there are still 4 tickets left for the HTLC Day at the Ballpark on Saturday July 29th. It includes a game with the A’s and the Twins, a Witches & Wizards fireworks show afterward, and we will tailgate before. Game time is 6:05 pm, everything else is to be determined. Tickets are first-come, first-served. Each ticket is $25 + a $2 handling fee. Email Kathy Miedema at email@example.com if you are interested.
Vacation Bible School (a.k.a. VBS) is fast approaching. It will take place July 10-14. The theme is “Mighty Fortress” in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. I’m sure Terri MacFarlane has plenty of opportunities for volunteers – just ask her! There are registration forms for your kids on the Media Table and on our website: www.holytrinityfremont.org (I decided against nailing 95 of them to the church door).
See you in church!
