This Week at Holy Trinity, May 19, 2017

Hi, Everyone:

This Sunday, May 21st, is the 6th Sunday of Easter and Fill the Food Barrel Sunday. It’s also the first Sunday of our single service at 10 am schedule for the summer.  This means if you accidently come at 8:45, you’ll be early enough to help make coffee and set up, and if you come at 11, you’ll be just in time for the Annual Congregational Meeting!  Yes, it’s finally here, so polish up those motion-seconding skills and participate in shaping our future (or at least sign in, eat, and pretend to listen).  After the Annual Meeting our newly-elected council will have a Council Meeting to vote for our church officers.  Important stuff is afoot!

Next Friday is Movie Night at 6:30 pm in the Activity Room, so don’t come tonight (unless you want to see me feverishly trying to put the Annual Report together or hear me cursing at the recalcitrant copy machine).

The annual Holy Trinity Yard Sale is quickly approaching on June 3rd (two weeks!) from 8 am to 2 pm.  Your support is needed to help make sure it is a success!  Pricing, sorting, and organizing will take place May 30th through June 2nd and other volunteer opportunities will be available during the Yard Sale.  Sign-up sheets are posted on the announcement board in the breezeway.  Remember that we can’t accept any donated items until AFTER the Annual Meeting this Sunday.  Please call Erik Holland at 510-793-5407 or 408-394-3151 if assistance in picking up any larger items is needed.

The second RIC Informational Cottage Meeting takes place on Sunday, June 4th at 11:15 am, so if you missed the first one, this one covers the same information.  Please come even if you think you know all about the Reconciling in Christ process and how to be welcoming to the LGBTQ community (do you know what cisgender means? I didn’t!).  What you won’t find out is why they picked such an awful name as Reconciling in Christ for what is really just an organization that helps LGBTQ people find welcoming churches, and helps churches learn how to become more welcoming to them.  Sign-up sheets are on the Media Table (remember: free food and childcare!).

See you in church!
