This Sunday, November 19th, is Thankoffering Sunday with a single service at 10 am, and a Thanksgiving Potluck following the service at about 11:15 am. Sunday School will be before the service at 9 am. It is also Fill the Food Barrel Sunday, so bring in those non-perishable food items for those with less abundance. Pastor Tim is still out of town, so thank you to Carmen Blair for presiding and giving the Message.
The office will be closed on Monday and Thursday this week. I’ll be out of town Monday, and Thursday, of course, is Thanksgiving! There is also no Tuesday Bible Study this week (they’re still recovering from last week’s potluck).
Next Sunday will be Christ the King Sunday (at the usual worship times), which ends the church year with the pomp of a procession and all of the King-themed hymns you can handle. There will be no Sunday School next week.
In fact, to help you keep track of all the changes in the Sunday School schedule and the upcoming rehearsals for the Sunday School Christmas Pageant, here is the preliminary (subject to change) Sunday School and Christmas Pageant Rehearsal Schedule

As you can see on the above schedule, there is a Family Caroling Night on Saturday, December 2nd. Join us for a little Christmas cheer! To kick off Advent, we will be caroling at local assisted living homes. No experience necessary. Meet at the church at 5:30 pm and we will carpool together. After caroling we will meet back at church for snacks and tree decorating. Contact Marta Wicke for any questions (email@example.com; 510-516-2782). While the others are out caroling, a group of us needs to do the Hanging of the Greens in the sanctuary. If you would like to come at 6 pm to help out, please sign up at the Media Table.
The annual Angel Tea will be on December 10th at 1 pm. Stuff yourself silly with delicious dainty treats while helping provide Christmas gifts for foster children. The cost is $35 per person and all proceeds go to purchase the gifts. Space is limited, so sign up at the Media Table NOW, before all the spots are gone. If you have any questions, please contact Cheryl Kuhlmann at (510) 502-0890. Don’t forget, if you took a tag from the Giving Tree in the narthex for Adopt an Angel, the gifts need to be under the tree (unwrapped) by December 3rd!
See you in church!
