This Sunday is September 11th, 17th Sunday after Pentecost and Scrip Sunday. So much is happening on Sept. 11th, Rally Day! We return to our two-service schedule (with the 21st Century Traditional Service at 8:45 AM and the Service of Living Praise at 11:00 AM), Sunday School begins again at 10:00 AM, along with Adult Forum and Parenting Forum at 10:15 AM, it’s the ELCA’s “God’s Work Our Hands” Sunday (wear your T-shirts!), and there’s a Council Meeting after the 2nd Service. Also, during the services we will be having the Blessing of the Backpacks (bring backpacks, briefcases, etc.), a Reflection on 9/11, Installation of Christian Educators, and Dedication of the Gary Hall Memorial Communion Set. Whew! I’m worn out just thinking about it!
For those who do not currently have a “God’s Work Our Hands” T-shirt to wear this Sunday, Debbie will be selling them for $7.50 in the Narthex before and after the 8:45 Service. There will be extras for those who didn’t order them. You can put them on in our changing rooms with the convenient porcelain benches.
R & R Circle will be having a meeting with a luncheon following on Wednesday, Sept. 14th at 10:30 AM. R & R Circle is a Lutheran women’s group. What does the R & R stand for? Find out in this Sunday’s bulletin insert!
Thrivent is sponsoring Free Document Shredding at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1301 Mowry Ave, Fremont. It will be on Saturday, September 24 from 9 AM to 1 PM. A flyer with more details about what is acceptable for shredding is available on the Media Table.
There will be a Church Clean-up Day on Saturday, Sept 24th starting at 9:00 AM. Let’s get our campus spic-and-span for the upcoming season! I understand there will be food involved. More details to come.
