This Sunday is August 7th, 12th Sunday after Pentecost. Worship Service will be at 10 am, 21st century traditional style. With nachos!
Tonight (Aug. 5th) is Game Night at 6:30 in the Activity Room. All are invited. It’s potluck-style, but don’t feel you have to bring anything except your fun-loving self. So come, relax, and let your hair down! (My hair let me down years ago.)
Attention all you knitters out there: Knitted Knockers needs your help! Besides being the only non-profit with a name I wish I’d thought up, they also knit free, soft, comfortable prosthetics for breast cancer survivors. Meg Ehmann is holding a class from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm this Wednesday, Aug 10th in the activity room, so come and keep abreast of how you can help. I’m sure it will be uplifting.
Daytimers Luncheons are still going strong during the summer. Feel free to come by on Tuesday, August 16th for some great conversation and food. Fellowship begins at 11:00 am, and potluck follows at 11:30. That’s next week. If you accidently come this week, bring any food to the office, and I’ll take care of it.
As if nachos, Game Night and Daytimers weren’t enough food opportunities, we’re having our Lu-Wow! On Sunday, August 21st after the service. Whole roasted pig, shaved ice, and other Hawaiian accoutrements will be featured. Bring a side, salad or dessert if you wish, but don’t feel the need to stick to the Hawaiian theme. (sorry, I’ve run out of bad Hawaiian puns – as if there were any good ones)
September 11th will be Rally Day, when Sunday School starts up again and we go back to two services. It also coincides with the ELCA’s “God’s Work Our Hands” Sunday, the one day of the year your “God’s Work Our Hands” T-shirt will be fashionable. So unless you ordered one last week, start digging in that closet for an old one!
