This Week at Holy Trinity, May 12, 2017

Hi, Everyone:

This Sunday, May 14th, is the 5th Sunday of Easter, Scrip Sunday, and, of course, Mother’s Day!  The kids will be handing out flowers to the women of the congregation during Children’s Time (thanks Loretta and Meg for getting the flowers), and we will be having a Mother’s Day Brunch between the services at about 10 am.  And if that food event doesn’t satisfy you…

The Daytimers’ Luncheon is this Tuesday, May 16th at 11:30 am following the Bible Study at 10 am. The theme this time is salads.  Come, eat, chat, and maybe contribute to the collection they take for the Good Samaritan Fund to assuage your guilt for taking the last bit of German potato salad.  They collected over $1,000 dollars in the past year just by eating!

Next Sunday, May 21st, begins our Single Service Summer Schedule.  The single 10 am service will be followed by the Annual Congregational Meeting.  Please come and be counted, be heard, vote, and eat (not necessarily in order of importance).  This is where you can hear what’s going on and help plan what will be going on at HTLC! Copies of the Proposed Budget are available for review on the Media Table or by emailing Terri at  There will also be a Council Meeting after the Annual Meeting to elect officers.

The annual Holy Trinity Yard Sale is quickly approaching and your support is needed to help make sure it is a success!  Pricing, sorting, and organizing will take place May 30th through June 2nd and other volunteer opportunities will be available on June 3rd during the Yard Sale.  Sign-up sheets are posted on the announcement board.  Remember that we can’t accept any donated items until AFTER the annual meeting on May 21st.  Please call Erik Holland at 510-793-5407 or 408-394-3151 if assistance in picking up any larger items is needed.

Thanks to all who answered my plea for Worship Helpers earlier this week.  All positions for this Sunday except for Acolytes have been filled.  Let’s see if we can mob Carmen week after week, jostling for those precious Worship Assistant slots!  And now that you’re in a signing-up mood, here are some other things you can sign up for:  chancel flowers, sandwich making, and nacho set-up and clean.  Just sayin’.  And thank you to all who do sign up or step in at the last minute.  You’re what makes this place go!

See you in church!
