This Week at HTLC, November 25, 2016

Hi, everyone:  Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

This Sunday is November 27th, 1st Sunday of Advent and Luther Loose Change Sunday (or as I like to say, “Loose Lutheran Change Sunday”).  We’re back to normal 8:45am and 11:00am worship schedule, but no Sunday School.

I’m going to be lazy today and refer you to last week’s marathon email for the pertinent information it contained, which is posted below.

There are lots of special services and events coming up such as Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Please read the Upcoming Events section at the end of this post for a full list of times and dates.

A couple of things I didn’t get to last week:

In an exciting step towards publicly confirming HTLC’s welcome to all, the council has approved the formation of a core team to begin the Reconciling in Christ process (RIC). This is the first step in a long process which involves months of discussion and learning opportunities, through which all voices of the congregation can be heard and considered. The aim of this process is to develop a Welcoming Statement that lets people know we welcome everybody, including those in the LGBTQI communities.  The adoption of this statement will be voted on by the congregation.  If you have any questions, please feel free to talk with anyone on the core team which includes: Pastor Tim, Cheryl Hall, Cheryl Kuhlmann, Keith Hillesland, Diana and Collin Thormoto, and Nate Wicke.

We now have an account with Office 365’s OneDrive cloud storage for the congregation to upload and share pictures of HTLC events.  The instructions are available on the Media Table.
