This Sunday is October 30th, 24th Sunday after Pentecost and Reformation Sunday. Be sure to wear red! (I think it was one of the original 95 theses – Whereas one should wear red on Reformation, those refusing shall be pinched!)
Tonight, October 28th, is the fourth Friday of the month, which means it’s time for Family Movie Night! Join us at 6:30 PM in the Activity Room for food, friends, and a fun film. Which film? Maybe the one you bring yourself!
Since All Saints Sunday is next week (November 6th), this Sunday is the last Sunday you can write down the names of those who have been saints to you on the sheet on the Media Table in the Narthex. Please print legibly so we don’t end up recognizing Joe of Arc. Digital photos of your saints can be emailed to Carmen at firstname.lastname@example.org. Printed photos can be put in Pastor Tim’s box for scanning. These names and photos will be shown on a screen during part of the service, so please – no nude photos!
Trunk-or-Treat is upon us! Monday night (Oct. 31st) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, all sorts of creepily decorated vehicles will descend upon our parking lot with treats for all the little ones from the church and neighborhood. There will be a Haunted Holland Hall, food (free-will donation), and tractor hayrides (weather permitting). If you would like to bring your tricked-out treat of a car, please sign up in the narthex. If you’d like to help out, see Tristan. Don’t miss out on this fabulous event. Let’s all hope the rain holds off!
The Reformation 500 Bookstore, like most bookstores, will be closing soon (said the bitter former employee of Borders Bookstore). Next week (Nov. 6) is your last chance to get these books at up to 50% off and with free shipping. Visit the table in the narthex to put in your order. Don’t face the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017 unprepared!
See you in church!
