Before I begin on the upcoming stuff, I’d like to say Thank You to all those who put so much hard work into making Sunday’s Lu-Wow the best one ever! (Of course, I may be biased because everyone was saying nice things about me). The food, dancers, decorations, and musicians all combined to make it a magical event. I especially want to thank Leilani, Arnold, Ann, Kathleen, and the choir for sneaking behind my back to perform my favorite hymn (they didn’t even tell the Parish Life Coordinator!). And a big thank you to all the members of Holy Trinity for the very generous gift. You guys are the best!
This Sunday, August 25th is the 11th Sunday after Pentecost and Luther Loose Change Sunday. There will be an Education Meeting at 11:15 am after the worship service for all 2019/20 teachers.
Don’t miss Confirmation Sunday next week on September 1st, when Amanda Cawthorn, Katarina Di Paola, and Elizabeth Lanzarotta will be confirmed during the 10 am worship service. Come to hear their faith statements and stay afterward to help them celebrate this important milestone in their lives (They probably chose Labor Day weekend so that they wouldn’t have to talk in front of so many people. Foil their plan and show up anyway!).
Church Work Day is on Saturday, September 7th starting at 9 am (but come whenever you can). The more people who show up, the more fun it is, and the more that gets done. Wear your work duds and bring anything you think might come in handy (especially if it’s edible). As always, any questions, ask John Williams (“John, what is the true nature of the Trinity?”)
The following day, Sunday, September 8th, is Rally Day/Ministry Fair/Blessing of Backpacks/God’s Work Our Hands Day! (just let me catch my breath…) As usual on Rally Day we return to our two-service schedule of 8:45 am and 11 am with Sunday School between services at 10 am. During both worship services we will have the Blessing of Backpacks and Briefcases. Wear your minion-yellow God’s Work Our Hands shirts if you have them. The Ministry Fair between the services will have booths to celebrate groups and ministries that everyone can be involved with. If you would like to host a booth, please notify Marta Wicke or Cheryl Hall (I’ll be there browbeating people into joining a musical group!).
See you in church!
