This Sunday, February 10th, is the 5th Sunday of Epiphany and Scrip Sunday. It’s also Annual Congregational Meeting Sunday, which means we will be having a SINGLE WORSHIP SERVICE AT 10 AM followed by the Annual Meeting at 11 am (or so). Yes, it’s finally here – your opportunity to bring up that full immersion baptistry/hot tub proposal! During the worship service we will have the installation of Libby Deaton as teaching parish student. It’s official, she’s ours! (hazing rituals will be postponed due to Annual Meeting)
Another reason to come to the Annual Meeting is the unveiling of the Giving Tree! Find out just how many leaves there are depending on how many Stewardship 2019 forms are received. Don’t worry if you haven’t turned yours in yet, the Giving Tree will remain in the narthex in future weeks to remind you and inspire you (or make you feel guilty, if that’s the way your mind works). The forms, available on the table in the narthex, are not just about finances, but ways in which you are involved, are willing to be involved, and any ideas and comments you have for the church in general. You don’t even have to put your name on it (especially if your idea for raising money is to sell indulgences). The tree is an illustration of how our individual contributions of time, talent, and treasure combine to make for a healthy and thriving church. Let’s pack that tree with leaves of generosity!
Next Sunday, February 17th, there will be an initial Spaghetti Feed Meeting at 12:15 pm. All who are interested in helping out please come with an abbondanza of ideas and enthusiasm. The Spaghetti Feed, one of our most popular fundraising events, will take place on March 23rd. Food, silent auction, prizes, kid’s zone – I’m excited already!
Watch for Bold Women’s Sunday coming up on February 24th. It happens on the fourth Sunday of February each year. Some of our very own bold women (just getting up and talking in church is bold in my book) will be lifting up notable women of faith during the service.
See you in church – at 10 am!
