This Sunday, May 26, is the 6th Sunday of Easter and Lutheran Loose Change Sunday. It’s also the first day of our single-service summer schedule, so we will be having ONE WORSHIP SERVICE AT 10 AM!!! (all caps, bold, and underlined with three exclamation points – the email equivalent of me yelling right in your ear) So if you accidently come at 8:45 am, you can start making coffee and be first in line for donuts. If you accidently come at 11 am, you can be first in line for the farewell Memorial Day Weekend BBQ Luncheon in Honor of Bernie and Muriel Teague (official potluck sign-up sheet title). The Teagues didn’t want a big fuss, so it’s a potluck with hot dogs and hamburgers provided by Hospitality. Bernard Teague and Mrs. Bernard Teague, as they are known in the Parish Record (apparently Muriel got her own first name later), are listed on the first day as members 52 and 53 – but only because they went alphabetically. They will always be number one with us!
The church office will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day, at least officially (I may be there anyway because I’m just not that observant).
Stewardship Spotlight: This week the Stewardship Spotlight would like to recognize all of the people who filled out an anonymous stewardship form. There is no wrong way to fill out the form and many valid reasons some people choose not to include a name. That doesn’t mean the gifts that they share with HTLC and the surrounding community shouldn’t be celebrated in print! At HTLC these include lector, communion assistant, choir, Praise Band, sending cards to members and friends unable to attend service, church work days, Spaghetti Feed, Sunday School, Oktoberfest, and VBS. In the surrounding community they are working with special needs youth, helping a food bank, school volunteer, supporting Fremont PD, and assisting at Fremont Discovery Shop. Wow that is a lot. Thank you to all of you for all that you do.
Vacation Bible School is coming up sooner than you think: June 24 through June 28, 6 pm to 8 pm. This year it’s a safari theme called “Roar!” Terri MacFarlane says she needs youth and adult volunteers, and she ain’t lion! Please let her know if you can help (email@example.com, 510-402-9161). Registration forms for your kids are available on the Media Table and downloadable online at our website (holytrinityfremont.org) or by clicking here.
See you in church – AT 10 AM!!!
