Hi, Everyone:

This Sunday, October 14th, is the 21st Sunday after Pentecost, and Scrip Sunday (order gift cards, get full value for your money, Holy Trinity gets a percentage – painless free money for the church!).  There is a Council Meeting after the second service at 12:15 pm.  Take a deep breath this Sunday – we just got done with Oktoberfest (such fun!) and Animal Blessing Sunday and are about to have a whole slew of special Sundays coming up:  Children’s Sabbath, Reformation, and All Saints.  Enjoy the calmness of a regular ol’ Sunday!

Tonight (Friday, Oct. 12th) is Game Night!  Come to the Activity Room any time after 6:30 pm.  We’ll have food and games available, but bring your own favorites if you like.  Or just come to gab – it’s all about food, fun, fellowship, and food (I think I may have a slight problem with gluttony).

This Tuesday, October 16th, is the third Tuesday of the month, which means it’s time for the Daytimers’ Luncheon!  All are welcome join in the feasting at 11:30 am after Bible Study.  It’s a great time with a fun group of people – and I’m not just saying that because they feed me.

I forgot to mention last week about Operation Christmas Child, a program sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (  In November, the Sunday School kids will be packing up shoeboxes full of items to be distributed to needy children throughout the world.  How can you help? They need small toys, personal items such as brushes and combs or hair bows and socks, and other fun items such as small books that tell stories about Jesus, coloring items, small stuffed animals, and anything else a child between the ages of 2 and 14 would like. Remember, these items must fit in a shoebox!  If you have items you think they could use, please pass them to Cheryl Hall or Kathy Miedema by November 1st.  See the flyer in this Sunday’s bulletin for more ideas for things to give.  Way to go, kids! (and Cheryl and Kathy!)

A reminder – there are sign-up sheets at the Media Table for a couple of events:  On Halloween we are having our annual Trunk-or-Treat, so sign up to bring your decorated vehicles.  On November 4th at 12:15 pm there will be a Thrivent InFaith Community Event about estate planning and growing HTLC’s endowment – please sign up by November 1st.

See you in church!
