Holy Trinity Lutheran Church has a number of ongoing ministries. Please read more about them below.

Prayer Chain

Please contact either Donna ( or Briana (

The prayer chain is for you to ask for prayer for family and friends with any medical or other emergency. Donna and Briana receive your prayer requests and then forward to over 40 people via email and phone. They receive close to a hundred prayer requests per year.

Reneal International Education Outreach

Reneal is a ministry founded by HTLC members, Rene and Neal Bierbaum. Reneal’s purpose is to provide support for students, their parents, teachers, and school administrators to enhance education  opportunities in schools in developing  countries. Recognizing the power of  technology in particular to change lives,
the primary focus of this organization is to provide Information Technology expertise and assets (computer hardware, computer software, and learning resources) to these schools.

Food for the Homeless

As part of its outreach, Holy Trinity provides lunches to the TriCity Homeless Shelter on Fridays. Each week, we give 40 sandwiches and another lunch item to eat with them. If you are interested in providing food or helping deliver them Friday mornings, please call the church. We can give high school students 2 hours Community Service credit for making sandwiches
or for helping with the delivery.

Of Special Note

Environmental Devotional for Lent

Our focus this Lent is on how to better take care of our world and its resources. In that vein, we are offering “Stewardship of Creation: A Thirty Day Discipline” as a resource. It was created by Sara Olson and Brooke Petersen for the Web of Creation ( at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. Download it here to read on one of your devices (save those trees!). For the less digitally-inclined, we have printed a few copies which are available at the Media Table. Look for the green cover.

Cause of the Month

March:  Sloppy Seconds Animal Sanctuary

This non-profit animal sanctuary in Hayward takes un-adoptable pets who have exhausted all avenues for care and gives them a forever home. HTLC’s Helping Hands kids voted in January to do a project with animals, and Helping Hands leader Marielle and her family visited Sloppy Seconds recently to see how we might collaborate in April and May. In advance of that partnership, we’d love to see HTLC throw some springtime support behind Sloppy Seconds and their mission. Learn more at
