WELCOME to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church! We know that reaching out to a new church for the first time can be difficult. We’ve tried to identify and answer most of the questions that first-time visitors might have. If this post doesn’t answer all your questions, please call our church office at (510) 793-6285 or email the church office at plc@xti.xrd.mybluehost.me. We are eager to welcome you and make your first visit with us a rewarding and enriching one!
Where is Holy Trinity Lutheran Church located? Our church is at 38801 Blacow Road in Fremont. Check the bottom of every page for a map.
What time are Worship services? Since March 2020, we began publishing online services each Sunday. We have returned to meeting in-person at 10 a.m. on Sundays.
Our pre-pandemic schedule: Sunday morning worship services are at 8:45 am (traditional) and 11 am (contemporary). Easter Worship services on Easter Sunday are held at 8:45 and 11 am. The Christmas Eve Worship service is held at 5 pm.
Is Holy Communion offered at Holy Trinity worship services? Yes! We offer Holy Communion at both services every Sunday, and all are welcome. We have an open table policy, which means that everyone is invited to come and receive the Lord’s Supper. We are providing individual communion packets during our in-person services.
How long does a Sunday Worship service last? Typically a worship service lasts an hour. Depending on the Sunday, and whether there are special events and/or other considerations added to the service, the service can sometimes last longer.
What time should I plan to arrive? You should plan to arrive about 10 minutes before the service starts to ensure that you have ample time to enter the church, and center yourself before the service begins. When your schedule does not allow you to be on campus early, we are simply happy that you have made worship a priority in your life.
Where should I park? There is plenty of parking in the Holy Trinity parking lot. When the parking lot is full, for example during large events, we open the back field to provide more space for cars.
What about Sunday School for my children? Holy Trinity believes that children are our greatest gift, and we strive to create an environment where they can experience the love of God through community, learning, play, worship and service. We are dedicated to providing a safe, accepting environment where children feel loved and valued. We partner with parents in their children’s faith education.
SUNDAY SCHOOL is for children 3 years old to 6th grade. Held between services at 10 am September through May, Sunday School is taught by parents in the congregation. During each service, Pastor Tim also holds a Children’s time at the front of the sanctuary. A teacher will bring any children in the nursery to join Children’s time. We invite all children to join us!
During the pandemic, our Sunday School has been held online. Please contact the church office to find out how to join.
What should I wear to church? The short answer? Whatever you want to wear! There is a wide range of dress at Holy Trinity, from business attire to shorts and flip-flops. You are free to wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
Is there a coffee hour on Sundays? Yes. We offer a Fellowship Hour every Sunday between services, at 10 am. Fellowship takes place on our patio throughout the year. Please don’t be shy. Everyone is welcome, and we are eager to meet you.
