Hi, Everybody:
This Sunday, July 4th, is the 4th of July (duh!), and the 6th Sunday after Pentecost. Come to the 10 a.m. Outdoor Worship Service clad in your Independence Day best, or join us any time online for the pre-recorded Online Worship Service. Zoom Coffee Chat is still at 9:15 a.m. and Zoom Communion is still offered at 9:30. Sorry, no fireworks (unless they’re virtual).
Whether you attend online or in person, you’ll get to hear some patriotic Favorite Hymns, this Sunday! Yes, we are starting Favorite Hymn Sundays on the 4th, but it’s not too late to get me your picks. Only a few people have turned in suggestions, so I’m giving you a few more days to get them to me. Please fill out a form this Sunday or email me the following details, or I swear I’ll make you all sing “Christians, to the Paschal Victim” (LBW #137).
- Your name (required)
- Favorite hymn or Praise Band song (title or first line)
- Hymnal and hymn number (if known)
- Favorite verse if you have one
Got bored kids? The Tri-City ELCA churches are starting a Kids’ Theater Project with the musical “Are We There Yet?” It’s for children in grades K-8, and for high school kids as student assistants. They will meet 3-5 pm on Wednesdays at Holy Redeemer in Newark, starting August 25th. Performances will be on October 6 and October 10. For more information and registration, click here.
Have a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!
– Keith, your friendly Parish Life Coordinator (i.e. Church Secretary)
