This Sunday, March 13, 2022, is the 2nd Sunday in Lent and Scrip Sunday. Sunday School is returning to in-person at a new time: 11 am after the Worship Service – welcome back! There will be a Council Meeting at noon. It will be a hybrid meeting – both in-person and via Zoom. If you would like to attend by Zoom, please contact Marta Wicke for Zoom details.
Last week, we welcomed Rev. Tita Valeriano – Director for Evangelical Mission (DEM) and Assistant to the Bishop. We thank her for delivering the Message (and for playing the drum!). Speaking of which, we need two members to attend the Synod Assembly and vote. The assembly will take place Thursday, June 2 through Saturday, June 4. You can either attend in person at the Nugget Casino Resort (Vegas, baby!), or by Zoom. Please see Pastor Tim for details if you would like to be a part of this important junket process.
Wednesday, March 16, is our next Midweek Lenten Service at 6:30 pm here at Holy Trinity. This week, Christ the King is presenting the mini-drama “Warned by Pharisees—Discernment means knowing whom to follow.” Where else can you get soothing music, drama, and discussion all in a half hour? Stay after for choir rehearsal if you really want to suffer during Lent!
Don’t forget about the Tri-Cities ELCA Virtual Easter Pageant! The video performance will be on Holy Saturday, April 16th, at Holy Redeemer, both in-person and on Zoom. The time is still to be determined. Actors of all ages are needed (Up to 40 people!). No memorization required! Helpers are needed, too! Remember, this Sunday is the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. So be sure to set your clocks ahead an hour before you go to bed Saturday night! I know it means you’ll lose an hour of sleep, but you can make up some of it during the sermon.
