Hi, Everybody:
This Sunday, June 26, is the 3rd Sunday after Pentecost and Lutheran Loose Change Sunday. It’s a pretty normal Sunday with just the in-person/livestream Worship Service at 10 am. Sorry, no food-related events this week (unless you yourself want to bring treats for everybody – always a delicious possibility!).
Speaking of food-related events, thank you to Hospitality for the wonderful Father’s Day Barbecue last week. It was a rousing success for everybody (especially for me, who got to eat leftovers all week – my favorite job perk!).
Also speaking of food-related events (I’m sensing a theme), here’s the latest on the Spaghetti Feed coming up July 16:
- Erik Holland will be on the patio following service on Sunday to answer questions and take reservations for attendance. Not for a specific time, but to let us know if you plan on attending and with how many guests, so we can plan for food.
- The grand prize for the raffle is Virtual Reality goggles from Meta (Facebook).
- Once again, Thrivent is supporting the Spaghetti Feed with Action Team kits. Part of that support is in the Thrivent t-shirts. All volunteers (and anyone else) are encouraged to wear them. Erik will have these on the patio if you would like to pick one up prior to the event.
The Spaghetti Feed will be 4 pm to 7:30 pm with food service starting at 4:30. Prices are $15 adults, $12 seniors, $10 kids ages 3 to 11, $45 family of 4, and kids under 3 eat free. There’ll be raffle prizes, a silent auction, a kid’s zone, beer and wine (sold separately), and other fun stuff. We’ll be looking for donations of prizes and themed gift baskets for the raffle (scrip cards are great, too!), so get those creative/shopping juices flowing!
And still speaking of food-related events, there is a fundraiser for Christ the King’s Backpack Project happening at the Panera Cafe on 2650 Mowry Avenue in Fremont on Tuesday, June 28. Bring in this flyer (or a digital copy) between 4 pm and 8 pm, and CTK gets 20% for school supplies for needy families. Or order online all day with the promo code FUND4U. We can help our sister church, disadvantaged kids, and, well… it’s FOOD!
Don’t forget to turn in those Favorite Hymns and Praise Songs for our Favorite Hymn Sundays! In keeping with today’s theme, how about “We Come to the Hungry Feast.“
