HTLC News Email, November 4, 2022

Hi, Everybody:

Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour this Saturday evening!

This Sunday, November 6, 2022, is All Saints Sunday.  There will be time during the service for you to remember loved ones by lighting a candle in their honor.  This Sunday is also the first Sunday in November, which means Sunday School and Confirmation Class will meet over at Holy Redeemer in Newark for joint classes.  First Sunday also means we will have a Prayer and Healing Station in the narthex during communion and Zoom Coffee Chat at 9:15 am. Zoom information will be in Sunday’s email.  And, of course, first Sunday also means nachos!

Trunk or Treat was a great success!  Considering we hadn’t done it for a couple of years, I thought we had a remarkable turnout from the neighborhood.  Thanks to all who participated!

We barely made it, but Pastor Tim got his Pastor Appreciation gift last Sunday on almost the last day of Pastor Appreciation Month!  We will still have the cards out for you to sign in case you missed it last week.  Here is a word of thanks from Pastor Tim:

Dear Holy Trinity Lutheran Faith Community,

Thank you for the beautiful and special “Story Stole.” I will treasure it and will always be reminded of your love and support.

– Pastor Tim

It’s only one week until Holy Trinity hosts Beau’s Bridge Club’s Holiday Boutique on Saturday, November 12, from 9 am to 3 pm.  Come by and get unique gifts for your loved ones (or yourself) and fill up on hot dogs and nachos! (the concession money goes to HTLC!).  Thank you to those who are crafting things for Holy Trinity to sell at our booth.  Please try to get them to church during the week so we can set them up in the wee hours on Saturday.  Don’t miss it!

November is Adopt an Angel month.  Please help us ensure that children in foster care have a wonderful Christmas by participating.  Here’s what to do:

  1. Choose an Angel tag from the Giving Tree in the Narthex.
  2. Purchase the gift.
  3. Bring the gift UNWRAPPED and put it under the tree with the Angel tag attached. Donations of wrapping paper are also appreciated.
  4. Gifts need to be under the tree by Sunday, November 27th.

If you are unable to shop (or just don’t want to) you can donate cash or gift cards. Preferred gift cards are Walmart, Target and Amazon.  See or call Cheryl Kuhlmann, 510-502-0890, if you have any questions.

Also, keep in mind that we have an offer to match donations toward the Audio-Visual upgrade for up to $20,000.  Don’t let this opportunity slip away!  If you didn’t keep it in your mind, click here to see Erik Holland’s derby-themed details again.

SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK! (don’t blame me if you’re an hour early to church!)
