Hi, Everybody. Please forgive the lateness of this newsletter.
This Sunday, July 2, will be the 5th Sunday after Pentecost, and Nacho Name Tag Sunday. The Worship Service will be at 10 a.m., both in-person and livestreaming. After all the events last weekend, things this weekend are back to relative normal. Thank you to all who helped make last week’s Musical Theater Camp and “Oh, Jonah” performances such a success! Thanks, too, to everybody who prepared for and participated in last Saturday’s Spaghetti Feed. Both events were smash hits!
Pastor Barbara’s retirement date is Sunday, July 16, 2023. She has been a faithful leader and servant at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church for 18 years, and has been invaluable here at Holy Trinity filling in for Pastor Tim. In honor of Pastor Barbara’s retirement, Sierra Pacific Synod Bishop Clare Burkat will preach during our Sunday morning 10 a.m. worship service on July 16. After worship, we’ll continue Pastor Barbara’s retirement celebration with light snacks and refreshments along with our expressed appreciation.
And, because there just aren’t enough food events around here, the Wesleyan Tongan Church community will hold a Luau celebrating Pastor Barbara’s retirement! Members & friends of both Holy Redeemer and Holy Trinity are invited to this event. The retirement luau is scheduled for Saturday, July 15, 2023, 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. at Redeemer Hall, Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church, Newark, CA. Members of Holy Redeemer are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. Members of Holy Trinity will be guests at this event (i.e. don’t worry about bringing anything except your best wishes). They look forward to sharing this important event with us.
