Hi, Everybody:
This Sunday, April 28, is the 5th Sunday of Easter and Lutheran Loose Change Sunday. Worship is at 10 am, Sunday School/Confirmation at 11:15 am, and Bell Choir at 11:30 am. Just a normal ol’ Sunday!
Next Sunday, May 5, The Tongan Wesleyan Church will be sharing their White Sunday with us, a holy and cherished celebration of children which is traditional in Tonga and the surrounding areas. The kids will be doing scriptural recitations, Biblical story reenactments, and creative dance performances throughout the service. White Sunday worship service will not be streamed on the internet due to children’s privacy concerns, and YouTube’s cap on our cuteness factor.
Mother’s Day will be coming up on May 12, and we will be having a Mother’s Day Brunch after church to honor all mothers and mothering-types. Hospitality will be providing myriad food with a Mexican theme (Mom never had it so bueno!).
Our Musical Theater Camp is coming, just not as soon as we had hoped and for not as long. The new dates are June 24th to 28th from 9 am to 4 pm. The performance will be during Sunday service on June 30th. Now you have even more time to anticipate the fun! Stay tuned for more updates.
The oft-delayed youth Bake Sale to benefit ELCA Good Gifts is now slated to be on May 19 after church. The kids will raise funds by baking treats (suggested donation: a buck a treat) and then decide what to buy (like a farm animal) for a community that needs help. Way to go, kids!
Mark your calendars! The annual Spaghetti Feed fundraiser will happen on June 22 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Start thinking about how you can help and who you can invite, because it’s im-pasta-bowl not to have a good time!
