HTLC News – July 18, 2025 – Pentecost 6 – Christmas in July
Hello Everyone! Merry July Christmas! At least this coming Sunday!
This Sunday, July 20th, we will be celebrating Christmas in July! (Thanks to those who are bringing Christmas goodies!) Apparently a lot of you have Christmas Carols as your favorite hymns! It’s also Fill the Food Barrel Sunday, so this is your reminder that you can fill that barrel any time that works for you. It’ll be in the narthex on Sunday, but it is always available in the Activity Room. Before church the Bell Choir will rehearse at 8:30 am. After church the Youth will meet at 10:45 am in the Youth Room, Council will meet at 11:00 am in the Activity Room, and our Tongans will worship at 1:00 pm.
Summer isn’t over yet! If you go on a vacation, send Holy Trinity a post card! Check out the large bulletin board in the narthex and see who else has been traveling!
Do You Have a Passion to Help Others?
Have you got a heart for foster kids? Consider helping Adopt an Angel, the same kids we help with our Angel Tree at Christmas! There’s information on the media table. If you’d like to give Cheryl flexibility to fill in any gaps in the items we receive, donate cash (check, Vanco, or actual cash) and she’ll shop for you! Use a pew envelope and mark it for Adopt an Angel. If you go shopping, bring the supplies and place them in the box between our July “Christmas Trees” in the narthex. You can also use Scrip to shop! There’s more info in the bulletin insert, or ask Pam! She’s there for you! Please bring your gifts in by Sunday, July 27th because school is starting in August!
How about a Taco Talk? Come to “an evening dedicated to meaningful dialogue, community connection, and good food.” July 19th from 6-8:30 pm. It’s put on by the Jesus and Justice Collective at SBCC – Fremont. At: South Bay Community Church, 47385 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA. To register go to: https://sobcc.org/events/#southbay Rene has more information!
Always know that we Lutherans are ready when emergencies happen. For instance, Lutheran Disaster Response provides resources to support flood response and recovery. Check out ELCA.org/flooding/donate.
Lastly – Safety, Youth, and Thanks
Safety – we have a defibrillator here at HTLC! Its in the hallway right beside the fire extinguisher. You’ll see it on your right as you navigate from church to nachos! It’s a good thing for all of us to know it’s there! Pastor told me it tells you exactly what to do! How cool is that?
Youth – There have been 13 youth at 2 of the meetings and 18 youth have attended in all. Can’t wait to see what God will do in the hearts of these amazing young people!
Thanks – A sincere thank you from the family to all of you who helped with Tammy Hobb’s Celebration of Life Service on July 12th.
Alrighty, that’s it until next week! In the meantime put your best self forward! God will help you!
Blessings,
Pr. Barbara
