HTLC News Blast – September 12, 2025

Hello, Everyone!

This coming Sunday, September 14, 2025, is the 14th Sunday after Pentecost, and also Scrip Sunday. It’s nice for all of us to take a breath after last week’s Faire/Bake Sale/Rally/Day! So much fun! I’m kicking myself I didn’t take any pics! This Sunday we get Children’s Bell PracticePraise Band, Sunday School, Youth Group, and Church Council! Love it!

Are you flexing your fingers and doing strength training for your hands? If not, you should! Next week is God’s Work Our Hands Weekend! Please sign up to join our Youth for the Coastal Cleanup Fremont Event, September 20th – 9:00 am to Noon. Sign up Sheet  is the narthex. Please sign up ahead of time, they won’t allow walk-ins. There’s a flyer in the narthex! Then on Sunday the 21st – anyone can come and help! Christina, Cheryl, and Linda will have a bunch of stuff to make Lutheran World Relief Kits! Let’s Use Our Hands to assemble Personal Care Kits for distribution by Lutheran World Relief to our neighbors in need throughout the world. On the patio after worship!

There’s still room in the Children’s Bell Choir, Sunday at 9:15 in Holland Hall and the Tuesday Morning Bible Study at 10 am.  There’s also plenty of space on the sign ups to help with our Oktoberfest Brunch on September 28th. Oh! And you can do the Hospitality Team a favor by signing up for the Brunch, so they can have a better idea of how much food they need to make.

Faith Stuff!

  • The Devotionals are here! The Devotionals are here! Christ in our Home and The Word in Season for Oct, Nov, Dec, in small and large print versions for you to take home.
  • At a recent adult forum on homelessness, Vivian Wan recommended a couple of books to read. Rene got them for us! Homelessness is a Housing Problem, and In the Midst of Plenty are in the narthex, on the media table. Just take one, read it, and bring it back for someone else to enjoy!

Did you know that September 21st is “Back to Church Sunday!” I’d never heard of it, but it’s a thing! You can look it up! It’s a good reminder that – if we find church valuable, so will others! You never know what an invitation can do to change people’s lives when God is in the picture! So think about it, and pray about who you might invite!

Lastly, if you are looking for a 2026 calendar, there are a bunch of them in the Parish Life Coordinator’s office, right inside the door to your right.

Take good care!
