HTLC News Blast – September 26, 2025
Hello, Everyone!
This Sunday is September 28th, the 16th Sunday after Pentecost and Loose Change Sunday, so check you pockets! Worship begins at 9:30 am, followed by our Octoberfest Bunch! Yum! Tongan Worship begins at 1.
Today we do good and then we eat! (Which is good, too!) In worship we will bless the Lutheran World Relief Kits before they are sent off to do oh, so much good!! Many thanks for the grants from Thrivent that made these kits possible. If you would also like to support the effort financially, you may designate your gift through HTLC “for LWR Shipping.”
After worship this Sunday come and eat! There will be your favorite Oktoberfest foods, including Sausages (brats, polish, hot dogs), Currywurst, German Potato Salad, Cabbage, Kraut, Kugel or Mac n Cheese, Ice tea/water/lemonade, Root beer floats, and assorted desserts! My mouth is watering and it’s only Friday!
Scrip Adult Forum October 5th! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Scrip, haven’t seen how easy it is to order online, or want to know more, this adult forum is for you! Starting at 10:45 am Pam will show us how to order gift cards on Scrip for gas, groceries, restaurants and so much more. You pay the same amount you would anyway, and it benefits HTLC’s ministries!
Stuff and Such!
- Children’s Bell Choir practices every Sunday at 9:15 in Holland Hall
- The Devotionals – in both small and large print are there for you to pick up on the Media Table
- Check out Homelessness is a Housing Problem, and In the Midst of Plenty are in the narthex, on the media table. Just take one, read it, and bring it back so that others can also become more informed.
- Reminder – Sometimes windows get left open and toilets & faucets are left running. Thank you for double checking before you leave the campus!
- If you are looking for a 2026 calendar, there are a bunch of them in the Parish Life Coordinator’s office.
Animal Blessing Sunday is on October 5th! Bring your Stuffed Animals to the 9:30 am worship, and your Live animals at NOON. It’s also a great time to bring in dry pet food to fill the pet food barrel for Ohlone’s Pet Meals on Wheels Program!
