HTLC News Blast – December 12, 2025
Hello, Everyone!
As of this writing, the heater is still out, so please dress warmly on Sunday! Sunday is just about my favorite service all year long! It’s the Christmas Pageant! Authored by Kathleen Keating, “Looking for Christ in All the Wrong Places,” will bring out the talent in our young people to both entertain and bless your heart this Christmas season!
This Sunday, December 14th, is the 3rd Sunday in Advent, and also, Scrip Sunday. Check in with Pamela if you’d like to help the church. You can help without spending more than you would have spent anyway!
We’ll begin the day with Worship and Live-Streaming, which begin at 9:30 am, and includes the Christmas Pageant. Sunday School and Youth Group will have a Christmas Party, and Adult Bell Choir will rehearse about 11:00 am. At 1:00 pm Tongan Worship will begin.
So here’s what’s up during Advent and Christmas!
- Pageant Rehearsal – 10:00 am – 12 noon: Tomorrow, Saturday, December 13th! Performers need to arrive at 9 am Sunday morning
- The A/V team is offering a Video training this Sunday, Dec. 14th, after the service at the sound booth. The Sound training will be in January of 2026. All are welcome!
- The last class of 2026 of the Tuesday Bible Study will be December 16. The class resumes on Tuesday, January 13th as usual, at 10:00 am.
- Smith Christmas with Friends – This Thursday, December 18th. All of you 18-24 somethings, check out the flyer in the narthex!
- Poinsettias! You can sign-up to bring a poinsettia in memory of or in honor of someone special to you and your family. The names will appear in the bulletin on CHRISTmas Eve. Purchase your own poinsettia (any color, any size) and bring it to the Activity Room between Sunday, December 21st and Wednesday, December 24th at 10 a.m. The sign-up list is in the narthex.
- Christmas Eve Services will be at 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
- Christmas Brunch December 28 – On the Sunday following Christmas, December 28, all are invited to a brunch in Holland Hall following the 9:30 am worship service. Hospitality will be providing a wide assortment of brunch-style foods. Please sign up at the Media Table so they know how many to plan for. Feel free to bring any leftover goodies from your Christmas celebrations for the “Island of Misfit Treats.”
