HTLC News Blast – January 2, 2025
Hello Everyone!
This Sunday, January 4th, is the day we celebrate Epiphany (which is actually on Jan. 6th)and also, Nacho Nametag Sunday. Worship and Live-Streaming begin at 9:30 am. From 10:45 am to 12 noon. It’ll be a quiet day as there will be no Youth Bell Choir, no Adult Choir, no Bell Choir, no Sunday School or Youth Group! At 1:00 pm Tongan Worship will begin.
So Many Thanks!
- The Hospitality Team outdid themselves on the wonderful Christmas Brunch, as did those who filled the Island of Misfit Treats! Thank you all for such a great time!
- Thanks to everyone, and there were many, who took part in making Advent and Christmas of 2025 such a meaningful and memorable year! Decorating, Singing, Playing, Leading, Providing Stuff for Others, and so much more!
- Thank you to all of you who graced our sanctuary with the lovely poinsettias! If you haven’t picked up your poinsettias from Christmas Eve, this will be the last Sunday you’ll be able to before they disappear. Please leave behind any saucers underneath them as we use them from year to year. And thanks to Carmen for placing them!
- Zach’s Winter Relief (founded by Marielle) was a rousing success! The Sunday School and Youth will have their work cut out for them putting everything together! What a great help it will be to so many! God’s at work at HTLC!

NEWS FROM OUR NEIGHBORS!
Happy New Year to our friends in the local ELCA community! We are pleased to announce that Pastor Raymond Waespi is now our called pastor, effective yesterday/January 1, after 3 years as interim pastor, and a previous 2 years as interim pastor in 2017-19. We thank God for his willingness to serve the people of Christ the King and the community. The special congregation meeting and vote were Sunday December 21 and he accepted the next day. His acceptance email is below. It is currently a halftime position. A key part of the position is figuring out our church’s future, working with the Ad Hoc Committee, which has also been CTK’s Call Committee for several months. At this time, CTK celebrates having a called pastor, the birth of Christ. and the New Year. Again, Happy New Year!
Yours in Christ,Cam Bauer, Congregation President
