HTLC News Blast – Friday, May 15th
Hello Everyone! What a lovely Mother’s Day last week, both the food and company! This is such a great congregation!
This Sunday, May 17th, we will be celebrating the 7th – and Final – Sunday of Easter, but the Joy of Easter is year round! It’s also Fill the Food Barrel Sunday, so check out your cupboard and see if you’ve got something to share! Church, both in person and live stream, begins at 9:30 am. At 10:45 am Sunday School has its last meeting for the summer and Youth Group will meet and make some decisions about what they’ll be doing this summer. Bell Choir will be practicing at 11:00 am and Council will meet at noon. Tongan Worship in at 1:00 pm.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Mother’s Day Brunch such a great event! Hospitality Team – You Rock! And, Janice and Sharon, thank you from all the women for our lovely plants!
Here’s What’s Happening!
- Confirmation! – On May 24th, Pentecost Sunday, Connor Shaw is being confirmed! Please come and hear this young man’s journey of faith and cheer him on as he answers his baptismal questions for himself!
- Bible Study will take a break – The last day of Bible Study for this year is on May 26th. Please come join in the pot luck to celebrate a great year of learning!
- You Like to Pitch in, Right? – If you’d like to be a reader, lay assistant, communion helper, on altar guild, or help in worship some other way! Talk to Carmen and/or come to the Assistant Training on June 7th at 10:45 am in the sanctuary.
- Graduates! – We would like to honor all of our graduates. If you or someone you know is graduating this year, please fill out one of the forms located on the media table in the narthex and either give it to an usher, put it in the Parish Life Coordinator’s box or email to plc@holytrinityfremont.org by June 8th. This includes all of those graduating from Middle School, High School, College, University, Advanced Degree, and Certificate Programs. We do not want to leave anyone out!
- Hymn of the Month – Who doesn’t love the music at HTLC? Well, we’re going to be adding to our repertoire! In a given month we’ll sing a song several times to make sure all of us know it next time it comes up during worship.
- Spring Concert May 30 here at HTLC – Come to a joyful Saturday Spring Concert at 2:00 pm by The East Bay Symphonic Band Fireflutes! – A free Concert – and cookies to follow! Kathleen plays, of course, and Michael accompanies!
- Pick your favorite! –It’s time to pick your favorite hymns! We will fill June and July with all of your favorite hymns! If we have enough hymns we can have Christmas in July, or Camp Sunday, and always Praise Band Sunday, it’s so much fun! Fill out the blue card in your bulletin and put it in Carmen’s cubby or give it to one of the ushers and they’ll do it for you! So fun!
- Musical Theater Camp in June – Check out the bulletin board in the hallway! We are doing a 2-week camp this time! Join the fun! The bulletin board has info, Volunteers! During the hours of 10 am – 3 pm M-F June 15-19 & 22-26 – Serve Snacks or Lunch and/or help on the playground, Camper Check Out, Crafts, Before Care Babysitting (3 kids – out of 13 so far) 8 am – 10 am
