HTLC/HRLC News Email, June 9, 2023

Hi, Everybody:

This Sunday, June 11, is the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost and Scrip Sunday.  Worship Service will be at 10 a.m., and there is an HTLC Council Meeting at 11:30 a.m.

Holy Trinity’s Musical Theater Camp is only 10 days away, and the big news is that it is now HALF PRICE!  Yes, for only $125, your kid can experience the fun of being a part of the musical “Oh, Jonah!”  They’ll learn new songs, the Jonah story, and the satisfaction of working together to produce something terrific!  The camp takes place Monday through Friday, June 19 through 23, 10 am to 2:30 pm.  The performances are on Friday, June 23rd at 6:30 p.m. (kids arrive at 5:45p.m.) and Sunday, June 25th at 10:00 a.m. during worship (kids arrive at 9:15 a.m.).  For more information, here are links to the flyerparent information, and the registration form.  Your kids will have a whale of a time! (There, I said it – and I’m not sorry!)

The Father’s Day Barbecue is only 9 days away.  It’ll be at about 11 a.m. on June 18, following the worship service.  There is a sign-up sheet at the Media Table in the narthex so we can get an approximate number of attendees to purchase food for. (Yes, I know – a preposition is something you shouldn’t end a sentence with.)

The Spaghetti Feed is only 2 weeks away!  Time to get together those gift baskets, tell your friends, distribute flyers, handmake those handmade things, find those dessert recipes, and, most importantly, sign up to help!  The sign-up sheet and flyers are on the Media Table in the narthex.  The Spaghetti Feed is on Saturday, June 24 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  $20 for adults, $12 for kids 3 to 11.  Delicious food, drink (including wine and beer for extra), activities, kid’s zone, and incredibly attractive people (if you sit by me).  What more could you want?

This is the last weekend to get me the information about your graduates before I list them in the prestigious bulletin insert!  You can either fill out one of the golden forms on the Media Table and put it in my box, or you can email me with the name, school, location, and degree/certificate/major/honors earned by the person graduating.  We are proud of their achievements and want to recognize them!

We’re still accepting submissions for Favorite Hymns, which will be used during services in July and August.  Just fill out a green Favorite Hymn form (available at – you guessed it – the Media Table!) and put it in Carmen’s Worship Committee box or my Parish Life Coordinator box.  Please pick one or two hymns or Praise Band songs, along with any favorite verses you have, and be sure to include your name (so we know who to blame – as in “Who chose Behold, Unveiled the Vesper Skies’?”).

In case you don’t know (and were afraid to ask), the Media Table is the one to your left as you come in the sanctuary double doors.  As you can tell, it will be full to overflowing with sign-up sheets, forms, and flyers, besides the usual information sheets, magazines, pamphlets, and devotional booklets.  If what you’re looking for isn’t there, try the Usher’s Table (to the right as you enter the double doors).  We may have to use that real estate as back-up!

– Keith
your friendly Parish Life Coordinator (i.e. Church Secretary)

And yes, “Behold, Unveiled the Vesper Skies” is a real hymn – #997 in the new Lutheran hymnal, All Creation Sings.
