HTLC News – August 2, 2025
Hello, Everyone! So sorry this is late! Please pray for my kids as they are sitting vigil on their dad’s last moments here on earth. So – knowing where he is going – to heaven!, I mean heaven! – on to the news!
This Sunday, August 3rd is the 8th Sunday after Pentecost and Nacho Nametag Sunday. We’ll hear a word about the rich fool at 9:30 am Worship. Then we’ll have Youth Group at 10:45 am , a God’s Work, Our Hands, Planning meeting at 11:00 am and Tongan Worship at 1:00 pm.
Many thanks to Linda for a great word last week while Pastor was away. It’s always good to have lay people preach! It keeps us pastors on our toes! Let me know if you want a copy of it! You can also go to our website: holytrinityfremont.org and – as it is every week – the recording of the service will be on both the Services Page and in the News Blog!
Those post cards and pictures keep coming in! Our bulletin board is getting filled up, but I don’t see a card from Greece from Vicky yet! Soon, I’m sure! Keep ’em coming!
This Sunday we’ll meet to plan God’s Work, Our Hands, so there will be more to come as to how you can help. Speaking of helping, THIS is how to help foster kids!
- Cheryl writes: “Thank you to our generous congregation for contributing so generously to our backpack and school supplies drive for Adopt an Angel. All donations are going to children in foster care. Without your participation, many children would be starting the school year at a disadvantage.”
- Holy Trinity’s Adopt an Angel response looked like this: $1,175 in cash, 29 backpacks-some with lunch boxes, water bottles, and pencil cases, 657 pencils, 93 boxes of crayons, 35 sets of colored pencils, 125 glue sticks, 376 pens, 18 pairs of scissors,18 highlighter sets, 98 Post-it note pads, 18 pencil sharpeners, 8 stenobooks, 12 rulers, 19 packs of notebook paper, 24 composition books, 45 folders, 42 spiral notebooks, 23 small legal pads, 36 mechanical pencils, 48 erasers, 50 pencil cap erasers, 17 3-ring binders, plus miscellaneous dividers, pocket tissue packs, colored pens, correction tape, and pencil cases.
This Saturday, August 9th at 2:30 pm, is the Celebration of Life for Erica Proctor, Janice Schaefer’s mom. The call has gone out from the Hospitality Team to bring handheld treats for the reception. Also, mark your calendars for our guest speaker, Vivian Wan, from ABODE, who will be speaking at our August 24th Adult Forum in Holland Hall.
That’s all for now, and here is my personal apology for missing the Links email last Saturday. The belated link to worship is here: https://www.youtube.com/live/YG2_wA0X-k0?si=3sjJJRBjbaRVnaA8 At the time I would have sent it I was in a Vagabond Inn parking lot in Hayward waiting for AAA to tow my car and I forgot by the time I got home! It’s been a week. Thank you all for your patience with me as all of this becomes ingrained. Keith! How did you do it?!
So many blessings!
