HTLC News Blast – January 23, 2026

Hello, Everyone!

This Sunday, January 25th, besides being the 3rd Sunday after Epiphany and Loose Change Sunday, we are celebrating Reconciling in Christ, a program that accepts everyone, no matter their sexual orientation, but it goes much further than that. Check out our statement, you’ll find it as our Welcome in the bulletin insert. Worship/Live Streaming begins at 9:30 am and Sunday School, Confirmation, and Youth Group will begin at 10:45 am. Bell Choir will begin at 11 am and our Tongan Worship is at 1:00 pm. At 1:30 pm our ELCA neighbors, Christ the King Lutheran will be installing their new Pastor Raymond Waespi at 1301 Mowry Ave. in Fremont. There will be an invitation from CTK in the bulletin to help you get there!

This is a picture of the Sierra Pacific Synod Group who went to Israel with Bishop Jeff, who is on the left. Check out the 5th from the left! It’s our Linda Headrick! I’m sure she’ll have some great stories and pictures to share when she gets home!

There is still time to bring colorful snacks on Sunday to celebrate Reconciling in Christ Sunday! Also, the Tuesday morning group is studying “”Have a Beautiful Terrible Day: Daily Meditations for the Ups, Downs & In-Betweens” by Kate Bowler. Come check it out!

Sunday School/Youth Group Dates

· Feb 1^st – Bag Packing for Winter Relief

· Feb 8^th – No Sunday School/Youth because of Super Bowl of Caring

· Feb 15^th – Regular Sunday School/ Youth will be back again

Souper Bowl of Caring – February 8!

Holy Trinity, along with many other organizations, is participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring on Super Bowl Sunday. It’s an annual national effort to collect food and money for local food pantries. We will be collecting non-perishable food items, and people will be at the doors holding soup pots to gather monetary donations. After worship service, join us for a Soup Potluck in Holland Hall. Wear sports team clothes!

Congregation Meeting Feb 22!

Holy Trinity’s Annual Congregational Meeting will take place on February 22, 2026, following the 9:30 am worship service. Hospitality provides snacks! We’ll be voting on our Congregational Constitution. If you want a printed copy of our President of the Congregation, Carmen Blair’s letter, the proposed changes, and the current congregation, check out the stack on the usher table. If we run out, please tell me (Pastor Barbara) and I’ll print some more.

Playground Exploration – If you are interested in being part of a group looking at our playground equipment needs, please see Carmen or Pastor.

Hymnal Fundraiser – Soon we’ll be seeking funds to purchase Hymnals for the pews. More info to come on how you can take part!

HTLC Spring Cleaning – March 28 – As is the custom for HTLC, the annual Spring Cleaning will happen on Saturday, March 28^th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (the Sunday before Palm Sunday). We will have pizza available around noon. There is a signup sheet in the Narthex so we can get a count of how many folks will show up. We are targeting the following tasks; decorating the sanctuary with palms, clean windows and sills (inside and out), pull weeds from the areas with junipers, for the junipers by the parking lot entrance laydown about 6″ of wood chips after the weeds have been pulled to help keep the weeds down, laydown wood chips in the native plant garden, trim shrubs as needed and blow the sidewalks, parking lot and patios at the end of the event.
