Hello, Everyone!

Sunday, October 5th, is the 17th Sunday after Pentecost and also Animal Blessing Sunday! At our Worship at 9:30 am Pastor will bless all of the stuffed animals. We will have Sunday School, Confirmation, Youth Group AND an Adult Forum on Scrip, all starting at 10:45 am. THEN, stay out of the way of the stampede! The Live Animal Blessing will be at Noon.

Two Opportunities to Take Part Online This Week!

  • INSTALLATION: Our new presiding bishop, the Reverend Yehiel Curry, will be installed this Saturday, October 4th  in Minneapolis. October 4th, at 12 pm Pacific Daylight Time, (2 pm in Minnesota). It is on the Home Page of our HTLC website, if you want to livestream! And and you can also click HERE for more information.
  • The Children’s Defense Fund (the source and inspiration for our Children’s Sabbath Worship), is holding a Zoom Gathering for A National Call to Prayer for Childrenon Monday, October 6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. ET. This one-hour virtual convening will include short policy groundings from CDF staff and prayers led by faith leaders in our network. See the QR Code attached for more information.

October 19th will mark the 34th  annual National Observance of Children’s Sabbath celebration. Every year, places of worship across the nation and from every religious tradition, join together in common concern for the struggles children, youths, and families face. The Sabbath is our expression of shared commitment to listening deeply to the voices of children and youths. This will mark the spirit of our united voice responding with care, action, and advocacy for our children. Our youth and children will lead worship, sing, preach the children’s sermon and play bells for the first time.

November 2nd is All Saints Sunday, when we remember those who have especially touched our lives but who are no longer with us. Please sign up on the clipboard at the Media Table by October 26 to have your saints listed in the bulletin and presentation. If you would like a photo of your saint shown during the service, please email a picture to Carmen Blair at carmenjblair@gmail.com or let her know to use a picture you previously provided. Remember that these names and photos will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel, so please make sure it’s okay with the person’s family or others in the photos before submitting them.

Have a blessed weekend!
