Hi, Everybody:
First, the sad news: Neal Bierbaum, beloved HTLC member and humanitarian, passed away peacefully on Thursday. Please pray for peace, strength, and comfort for Rene Bierbaum and their family and friends at this difficult time.
This Sunday, December 22, is the 4th Sunday of Advent and Lutheran Loose Change Sunday. Worship is at 9:30 am and there is no Sunday School or Confirmation until some time in January. If you signed up to bring Poinsettias for Christmas Eve (or even if you didn’t) you can drop them off in the Activity Room starting this Sunday through 10 am on December 24. Use the provided craft sticks to write your name on and stick in the pots so you can pick them up after the late service on Christmas Eve.
Tuesday, December 24, Christmas Eve Services are at 4 pm and 8 pm. Both services will have the traditional singing of “Silent Night” by candlelight, and the 8 pm service will include performances by the choir. Between the services, there will be a Gathering at Randy and Vicky’s house. All are invited. This year’s theme is the Feast of Seven Fishes (it’s an Italian-American Christmas Eve tradition – there’s a nice little 2018 movie called “Feast of the Seven Fishes” that you can stream. It’s pretty enjoyable.). The address and directions to their house are available in the narthex. Tuesday Bible Study is on hiatus until some time in January.
The following Sunday, December 29, we will have our Service of Poems & Carols at 9:30 am December 29 worship service will be sprinkled throughout with meaningful Christmas poems and familiar Christmas carols So come, sing, listen, and enjoy. Please stay for the Christmas Brunch following the service. There is a sign-up sheet on the Media Table if you plan to attend so that Hospitality can get a rough idea of how many for which to prepare. Feel free to bring any leftover goodies from your Christmas celebrations for the “Island of Misfit Treats.”
As a friendly tax-related reminder, December 29th is also the last 2024 Sunday to make a donation to Holy Trinity and have it count for this year. At the end of November, our General Fund was $21,306.08 in the red, so please consider an extra contribution to Holy Trinity if you can. Thanks for your generosity!
Have a Merry Christmas, all!
Keith
