Hi, Everybody:
This Sunday, June 19, is the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost and Fill the Food Barrel Sunday, and Juneteenth, and Father’s Day! We will be having a Father’s Day Barbecue after the worship service (thank you to those who responded to my email – looks like we’re going to have plenty of attendees after all!). During the service, we will have a pouring of libations for Juneteenth, liturgies for men of faith, and a special surprise gift available for those who dad-identify. (I identify through “dad jokes.” [When do you know a joke is a “dad joke?” When it becomes apparent!])
This Sunday is also Pastor Tia’s last Sunday at Christ the King, and they are holding a luncheon after their service in her honor (I’m guessing starting around 11:15/11:30?). If you eat fast, you may be able to make both lunches!
Some Spaghetti Feed details are still being hashed out (or pasta’d out – we won’t be serving hash). What we do know is that it is on Saturday, July 16, starting at 4 pm with food service starting at 4:30. There will be seating options for different COVID comfort levels (“I’ll take a seat in the no-coughing zone, please”). Prices should be $15 adults, $12 seniors, $10 kids ages 3 to 11, $45 family of 4, and kids under 3 eat free. There’ll be raffle prizes, a silent auction, a kid’s zone, beer and wine (sold separately, and definitely not in the kid’s zone), and other fun stuff. We’ll be looking for donations of prizes and themed gift baskets for the raffle (scrip cards are great, too!), so get those creative/shopping juices flowing!
We’re still taking suggestions for Favorite Hymn Sundays coming up later this summer. Forms are available in the bulletins and on the Usher’s Table for you to list one or two of your favorite hymns or Praise Band songs. Just fill one out and put it in my box. For those who only watch the livestream, you can email them to me (the ones I don’t like, I’ll claim went directly to my spam folder).
