Hi, Everybody:
This Sunday, March 20, is the 3rd Sunday of Lent and Fill the Food Barrel Sunday. The schedule will be as usual with Zoom Coffee Chat and Zoom Communion at 9:15 and 9:30 am, in-mask-in-person and livestream worship at 10 am, and in-person Sunday School at 11 am. There will also be an in-person outdoor Confirmation Class at 11 am. Oh, and the vernal equinox is at 8:33 am PDT, so… SPRING!
Now that we are livestreaming our services on YouTube, we will be suspending the Zoom Communion sessions starting in April, since the livestream is now fulfilling the commune-at-the-same-time-with-others idea (well, with a 20 second delay. But with God, a thousand of our years is but a day, so our 20 seconds is like fifty-five millionths of a second to God [I’m sure the teachers out there will correct me]) So, those of you who are used to communing with us on Zoom, just watch the livestream at 10 am on Sundays starting April 3, and we’ll all be communing together! (unless the Son of Omicron variant causes us to change yet again)
We also plan to reduce the Zoom Coffee Chat sessions to the first Sunday of the month starting in April (COVID willing). This will reduce the pre-worship panic considerably for the AV team (we always seem to forget something when changing connections from Zoom to livestream and back again!). We do want to maintain the rapport with our at-home members, so be sure to show up with your virtual nachos!
If you’re interested in attending the Synod Assembly, either by Zoom or in person at the Nugget Casino Resort (in Reno, not in Vegas as I implied last week, but I’m sure what happens in Reno stays there as well). The assembly will take place Thursday, June 2 through Saturday, June 4. Please see Pastor Tim for details.
Wednesday, March 23, is our next Midweek Lenten Service at 6:30 pm here at Holy Trinity. This week, Holy Redeemer is presenting the mini-drama “The Fig Tree”—Plants and people both need nurturing. Questions to think about this week are: What kept you nurtured throughout the last 2 years? What was missing?(Choir Rehearsal is at 7 pm, in case that was what you were missing!)
