Hi, Everybody.
Well, today is my last official day as your Parish Life Coordinator. The long search for my replacement has finally culminated in the hiring of the new Parish Life Coordinator. (drumroll, please…) You know her, you love her, you can’t live without her, it’s… Pastor Barbara Caine! Yes, that Pastor Barbara – former pastor of Holy Redeemer and current member of Holy Trinity. She’s been training with me the last couple of weeks and not only has she survived, but the office is already much neater than I’ve ever seen it! Her office hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 2 pm. Stop by to offer her your congratulations/condolences!
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 3 at 5 pm is the last rehearsal for the HTLC & TWC kids who are participating in the White Sunday Celebration.
This Sunday, May 4, is the Third Sunday of Easter and Nacho Name Tag Sunday. It is also White Sunday! The Tongan Wesleyan Church is inviting us to their service at noon. Come see what the kids have learned and how their faith has grown in the past year. Sunday School and Confirmation are at 10:45 am. There is no Bell Choir Rehearsal.
On May 11 following the worship service we will be having a Mother’s Day Brunch in honor of moms and mom-types. It will be held on the Patio, or in Holland Hall if the weather is inclement. Please sign up at the Media Table so that Hospitality can get an approximate headcount for food planning.
Rene is excited about the No Vacancy Series, presented by Cedars Melino Foundation. They will meet on Friday, May 9 at Cedars Church in Newark from 6:30-9:30 pm. Their goal is to bring together faith leaders, advocates, and community members who care deeply about housing justice and the well-being of our neighbors.
The last day of Sunday School for this year will be on May 18. The children will try playing bells that day and possibly begin a children’s bell choir! I’m sure it will not be noisy at all. There will be no Sunday School on May 11 due to the Mother’s Day Brunch. You need another meeting to go to, right? The nearest in-person Sierra Pacific Synod conference meeting this year will be on May 17 in Walnut Creek at St. Matthews Church from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Go to https://www.spselca.org/synod-assembly-2025 for more information. (I’ll understand if you can’t attend due to Norwegian Constitution Day celebrations)
The video of the Maundy Thursday Service and all CTK videos are available on the CTK YouTube channel.

Don’t forget to register your kids for the Musical Theater Camp coming up June 23-27.
The Celebration of Life for Tammy Kuhlmann has been scheduled. It will be on July 12 at 10 am with a reception to follow.
– Keith,
your friendly former Parish Life Coordinator
P.S. – I have not told Pastor Barbara where all the bodies are buried. You’ll have to dig for those yourself.
