HTLC News Email, November 16, 2024

Hi, Everybody.  Just the facts today, I’m afraid (or is that a relief?).

This Sunday, November 17, is the 26th Sunday after Pentecost and Fill the Food Barrel Sunday.  Worship is at the new normal time of 9:30 am.  Florence Pidakala will conclude her Adult Forum Bible Study starting at 10:45 am in the Activity Room.  The kids will be doing a read-through of the Christmas Pageant with music during Sunday School at 10:45 am.  And Bell Choir rehearses at 11:30 am.

Pastor Tim will not be available the week of November 18 through November 24.  Pastor Jim Brun, whom you may remember from when Pastor Tim was on sabbatical, will be providing the Message on Sunday, November 24.

You only have until next Friday, November 22, to take the FACT survey on how you think COVID affected Holy Trinity as a church and you as a congregant.  The survey is fairly short, and the information should be useful to the ELCA.  Here’s the link:  https://covidreligionstudy.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9GYI89a3NMOwuFw?congregation=20305 .

Next Sunday, November 24, we will be having a Thanksgiving Potluck after the service.  Hospitality will be providing turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, bread, and beverages.  There are sign-up sheets at the Media Table for if you plan on attending and if you would like to bring a side dish or dessert. Let the kids line up first, because they need to go to a rehearsal for the Christmas Pageant!

The Angel Tree still has quite a few tags available with the wishes of foster children on them, and they need to be under the tree unwrapped and with their tags attached by next Sunday, November 24.  Please help make the holiday season a little merrier for them.

The Christmas Pageant is coming up on December 8.  The rehearsal schedule is tight, so it’s important to be at as many as possible:
11/17 — full read through with music, during Sunday School time
11/24 — full read through with music & start blocking (stage positions), during Sunday School time
12/7 — 10am-12pm, finish blocking, costuming, FULL DRESS RUN (this is the most important rehearsal, since the performance will be the following day; Hopefully, most of our cast will be there!)
12/8 — PERFORMANCE during the worship service

Our candlelight Christmas Eve Services will be at 4 pm and 8 pm this year.
