This Sunday, November 10, is the 25th Sunday after Pentecost and Scrip Sunday. Pamela will be putting in an order for scrip gift cards on Monday. If you want to be sure to get them in time for your Adopt an Angel gifts for Foster Kids, you need to order them by the end of the day this Sunday! The gifts have to be under the Angel Tree by November 24. Scrip also makes a great Christmas gift for friends and family, and it supports Holy Trinity as well. There will be an HTLC Council Meeting at 12:30 pm in the Activity Room this Sunday, and you’re invited! (Why should only a few have to suffer?). Keep them entertained by asking abstruse questions! (like, “Is the word ‘abstruse’ difficult to understand, or is it just ‘difficult to understand?’ Discuss!)
Also this Sunday, Florence Pidakala, our Ministry in Context Student (Teaching Parish Student to us “seasoned” folks), will be leading an Adult Forum Bible Study at 10:45 am in the Activity Room. And if you’re thinking that 10:45 is in the middle of the Worship Service, you have forgotten about our new schedule in which Worship starts at 9:30 am.
The Christmas Pageant is coming up sooner than you think (December 8), and casting starts this Sunday during Sunday School (at 10:45 am – new schedule, remember?). The rehearsal schedule is tight, so it’s important to be at as many as possible:
11/10 — Casting: Kathleen will have scripts available this Sunday and will send PDFs to those who are not physically present.
11/17 — full read through with music, during Sunday School time
11/24 — full read through with music & start blocking (stage positions), during Sunday School time
12/7 — 10am-12pm, finish blocking, costuming, FULL DRESS RUN (this is the most important rehearsal, since the performance will be the following day; Hopefully, most of our cast will be there!)
12/8 — PERFORMANCE: if you are not at church this Sunday, obviously you will not be in the pageant!
Don’t forget to take the FACT survey on how you think COVID affected Holy Trinity as a church and you as a congregant. Anyone who participates in the life of Holy Trinity and is 18 or older can take the survey, and responses are due by Friday, November 22. They say it should take between 12 to 15 minutes (but if you’re like me, you’ll spend that amount of time on one question trying to decide if you “strongly agree” or just “somewhat agree”).
