Hi, Everybody. Yes, I’m still here:
Currently, my usual email is not working (as well as the other emails ending in @holytrinityfremont.org). If you need to contact me, please use the following email: holytrinityfremont2@gmail.com.
If you have recently tried to send me information at the other address, please send it again to the new address.
Also, since last Sunday, the wifi and ethernet at church have not been working, so we are unable to stream our services and I won’t be sending out links for tomorrow’s service. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Also, the office computer and the printer are not speaking to each other while this is going on, so printing bulletin booklets has become a problem. Everybody will be getting large print bulletins this Sunday!
Also, there are intermittent dropouts in our video system, so there probably won’t be any slides shown or good videos of the services recorded. If you’ve been nostalgic for a pre-COVID style service, this is the week to come!
Suffice it to say, all of the church’s electronics have conspired to keep Richard and me from leaving on our trip this week. My rant is over. Thank you for listening.
This Sunday, February 25, is the 2nd Sunday in Lent and Lutheran Loose Change Sunday. Following the 10 am Worship Service will be Holy Trinity’s Annual Congregational Meeting. HTLC voting members: stand up and be counted! (so we can get a quorum). Sign in, grab an Annual Report, grab some comestibles provided by Hospitality, and grab a seat (I mean CHAIR! Darn it, now I have to go through sensitivity training again!). All sorts of important stuff will be discussed and voted on, so be sure to be there. There will be no Sunday School, Confirmation, or Bell Choir this Sunday.
In case you missed it last week, here again is the link to where you can get Daily Lenten Devotions by email: https://lentenchallenge.org/the-challenge-details/daily-devotions/
Don’t forget about our Midweek Lenten Services on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm throughout Lent. These are half-hour meditative services featuring Taizé music and short dramas by Kathleen Keating called “Four Bright Lights” about re-interpreting the Advent wreath for Lent. Christ the King, Holy Redeemer, Holy Trinity and the Tongan Wesleyan Church are all participating.
The Sunday School invites the young and young at heart (everyone) to join them for Game Night 6:30-8:30pm on Saturday, March 2nd at church. You may bring a snack to share (finger food), your favorite card game or board game, or just bring your smiling face!
Other events to keep in mind:
- Bold Women’s Day on March 3
- Palm Sunday on March 24
- Seder Meal on March 24 at 5 pm at Holy Trinity (watch for a sign-up sheet soon)
- Maundy Thursday Service on March 28 at 7 pm at Christ the King
