Hi, Everybody:
This Sunday, August 30, is the 13th Sunday after Pentecost. It’s also the 5th Sunday of the month, which normally would be Stewardship Sunday, but we aren’t having any special talks or anything about it during the online worship service (See? COVID-19 is good for something!). Zoom Communion and Coffee Chat are at 9:45 am and 10 am as usual, and the Zoom information is the same as last week (I’ll send it out again on Sunday). If the topic of conversation at Coffee Chat does turn to stewardship, you can always say “I gave at the Spaghetti Feed!” (I’m joking, of course – the Spaghetti Feed should be in addition to your regular giving! There’s your stewardship talk!)
“What Spaghetti Feed,” I hear you say? Where have you been the last few days, under a rock? (just like Jesus!) Well, you’d better get a move on because after 5 pm today, the tickets go up to $20 instead of $15 (incentive to give the cooks some idea of how much food to make!). Food Pick-Up: 4:30pm – 6:00pm at HTLC. Please call ahead if possible so that food crew can have your meal(s) ready for you upon arrival! HTLC main phone # is 510.793.6285.
