HTLC News Email, January 13, 2023

Hi, Everybody.  Happy Friday the 13th!

This Sunday, January 15, 2023, is the 2nd Sunday after Epiphany and Fill the Food Barrel Sunday.  There is no Sunday School this Sunday, but there is a Worship Committee Meeting at 11:30 am.

You’re invited to the next Jesus and Justice Collective event on January 15 from 2 pm to 3:45 pm in the Bridges Cafe at Bridges Community Church.  They’ll be taking a look at racial trauma, its impact, and how we might respond as the family of Christ.  Please sign-up HERE.  Delicious snacks included!  Reach out to them at jesusandjusticecollective@gmail.com with any questions or for more information.

Here’s this week’s Be the Church Tip (I’ve decided I need to call them something, and “Guilt People into Getting More Involved Tip” just wasn’t succinct enough).  And this week it’s Buildings and Grounds.  All of the yardwork and most of the building repairs are done by volunteers from this church.  And some of those volunteers are becoming, shall we say, “well seasoned” (as in “Geez, John, just how many seasons have you seen?).  If you are handy or like to work outside, talk to Roy Heaivilin or John Williams.  I’m sure they have all sorts of tasks for all abilities to help keep our church campus in a well-loved and cared-for state.

Some dates to keep in mind:
January 29:  RIC Sunday
February 12:  Souper Bowl of Caring
February 26:  Annual Meeting
