HTLC News Email, September 24, 2021

This Sunday, September 26, is the 18th Sunday after Pentecost and Lutheran Loose Change Sunday (cha-ching!).  The newest normal schedule applies:  9 am Zoom Sunday School, 9:15 am Zoom Coffee Chat, 9:30 am Zoom Communion, 10 am Outdoor Worship Service, and, as always, Online Worship Service any time you feel like it!

Next Sunday, October 3, is Animal Blessing Sunday.  Expect to see plush animals and animal-related songs and liturgy at the service.  Then, at 11:30 am we will hold our second annual (and let’s hope there’s not a third) Virtual Live Blessing of the Animals via Zoom.  Like last year, you will have an opportunity for your pets to receive a blessing by Zoom in the comfort of your own home! We’d love to see you and meet your pet or plush animal.  Or, if you want to honor a deceased pet (or if your live pet is camera-shy), bring a picture to hold.  If you’d like to attend, please email me at plc@xti.xrd.mybluehost.me with your name, email address, and the names of your pets, and I will email you the Zoom information and a bulletin to follow.

Make Your Pet a Star!  If you’d like a photo of your pet to appear during a hymn in the online worship service next week, please email it to Carmen Blair. The sooner you get it to her, the better your chances that she hasn’t already finished editing.  I’d say before Thursday is your best bet to avoid a grumpy Carmen (if one exists!).

GivePlus’s days are numbered (6 to be exact)!  Yes, GivePlus is going away September 30th.  Vanco, our eGiving provider will be “retiring” their GivePlus mobile app (it’s moving to Palm Springs).  There is an updated mobile app called Vanco Mobile Faith Engagement (much catchier!) or, for short, Vanco Mobile.  Please download the new app to your phone for free from the Apple App store or Google Play store.  You can also check out this Vanco Mobile How-To Guide for step-by-step instructions.  If you have questions, please email, call, or stop by the church office.  Or you can also contact our Treasurer Terri MacFarlane via email.  It makes giving a whole lot easier!

Don’t forget, if your children (or you) would like to participate in the Online Christmas Pageant, please contact Kathleen.  Hurry, preparations are starting soon!

– Keith, your friendly Parish Life Coordinator (i.e. Church Secretary)
